A Love Story of Richard and Elizabeth happened as I reached back through my roots of reading. I always enjoyed the epic historical romances that my paternal grandmother read. She had filled her bookshelf with these stories. I believed learning history through fictional stories was an excellent way to delve into history, even learning about ancient lives. As I moved through college, I had four semesters of anthropology and a semester in England learning American history through British eyes. Quite eye-opening.

History went onto the back burner as I met and married and had excellent adventures. I learned more about ancient and historical figures as an interpretive park Ranger, but this knowledge did not move me to write.

Elizabeth was someone who lived during the 1600s. However, Richard is a compilation of several different people. Just as today, people then made mistakes. The wrong name or misspelled family names happened more than we thought. In the 1600s, most written words were phonetic.
