My Aunt Passed Away

I, The Writer, have no words to say
What I feel.

I am devastated that I was not able to say good-bye
Before the day after Easter 2022.
She was a second mom to me, sigh
Yet I have no words.

I have been plodding, plotting, and playing along
On the Social Media trail.
Enjoying planning times all strong
While I wait for the words to come.

She was my godmother, my Aunt, my second Mom
A beautiful woman.
She took a stressful situation and made it calm
For me and my extended family.

She was smart, fierce, and proud
A true Southern lady.
She was in her element in a crowd
As well as with her family.

When Sasha and I started to explore,
We saw them less and less.
Still got the cards, letters, and more
Then politics got in the way.

She was not on social media at all,
Seemed to hate computers.
She would rather go to the thrifting mall
And spend time with family.

These are words that seem to be
her the most:

Beautiful
Popular
Happy
Welcoming
Ingenious
Creative
Family
Religious
Decorator
Holiday Celebrator
Beach-Goer
Gardener
Thrifty
Jewelry Lover
Gregarious
Extrovert
Friendly
Cook
Hoarder of paper pieces
Intuitive
Cautious
Planner
Idea maker and creator.

To my sister, cousins, Uncle Joe and family,
I am sorry I have seemed silent.
I have been thinking about her every day since her passing.
My words only came today.
