Suzanne Duncan Displays Brutal Coldness in Antarctica Photography
Fabulous photography, compelling art, and sharing scenes most of us never see is all there with Suzanne Duncan’s photography. Her five-picture magaize spread is a stunning array, which make you feel the brutal coldness of Antarctica.
- The First Photo: A two-page spread of a black mountain, with bluish white snow and glacier coming down to meet a steel gray ocean.
- The Second Photo: The curved lines of the deck, symmetrical angles with white metal perfectly round holes looking out to touch the continent.
- The Third Photo: A giant fur seal lounging on an iceberg, in a sea of icebergs, watching the ship go by.
- The Fourth Photo: A closer view of the black mountain, bluish white snow, meeting the water, and looking closely, new icebergs forming while clouds drift past the peaks of the mountain.
- The Fifth Photo: Photographers on the boat, taking photographs of the view before them, the gray sky, black mountain, white snow, and deep dark blue of the sea.
“Photography is art and it is what you make of it,” Suzanne says. She is an artist who traveled to Antarctica and used her camera to create awe inspiring photographs that make you want to go there, even with her description. She said, “I am not going to lie to you; summertime was a warm -13c (8.6F).” She said her fingers froze for the pictures she took.
