Yeah, NH would not be on my list. I had domicile in Texas, but that is not a place to live. I lived in Washington state for a summer season, and the amount of rain made that less than thrilling.
Florida was too humid in the winter, I can only think that it would be worse in the summer. Alaska is too cold, along with South Dakota and Wyoming is a lonely state to live in. After a while most people from SD and WY walk sideways as the wind is always blowing.
In Tennessee, while you do not pay tax on job income, you do pay state income tax on dividends and interest. So they are not truly a state tax free state. (According to H&R Block.)
The best state out of all of them is Nevada. We pay very low rates of property taxes and vehicle taxes. We are in a semi-rural area. Low crime as far as I can tell, and we are happy.
